Children’s book author Bridget Heos paid a virtual visit to Franklin School on May 13, sharing writing, editing, and publishing tips in three different sessions for students in Grades 1-5. “Even though I’ve been writing for a long time, that doesn’t mean I do it once,” said Heos in explaining the need to write a number of drafts. “With each new draft, the story gets better. Putting that effort in means you’re putting your heart into the story and the reader can sense that.” Heos, the author of more than 120 children’s book including the Mustache Baby series, was invited to speak with the students as part of the school’s annual Author Day, organized by Franklin librarian/media specialist Rachel Kennedy.
