Assistant Superintendent Visits China as part of Educational STEM Partnership

In June, Assistant Superintendent Paul Pineiro visited China as part of a Kean University program that pairs elementary, middle and high schools in the Garden State with counterparts in Zheijiang Province for a partnership that focuses on science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) innovation and development.

Veterans Honored in Westfield Public Schools

Students and staff across the Westfield Public School District honored the nation’s military veterans with assemblies and other commemorations to thank them for their service and sacrifice.

Former Westfield teacher, now author, visits Franklin School

Former Westfield teacher Angela LaCarrubba, now a children’s author, visited Franklin School on Oct. 7 to speak to students about the writing and publishing process as well as the importance of acceptance, a key theme of her book, Nobody’s Purr-fect (Especially Not Georgie).

Board Appoints New Supervisor of Buildings & Grounds

At its October 15, 2019 meeting, the Westfield Board of Education approved the appointment of Sean McArthur as Supervisor of Buildings and Grounds for the Westfield Public School District, effective January 1, 2020. McArthur succeeds Michael Morris who will retire on December 31 after 25 years of service.
